Bufonophobia: Fear to Toads
March 11, 2010

Bufonophobia is a condition referred to as the dislike or aversion towards toads. It is a situation which needs more counseling and thinking to cure it. It might even take years to treat such conditions.

Bufonophobia is referred to as a condition which arises due to fear or dislike to toads. It is a condition which might really put patients in trauma. It might be very difficult for them. They might fear of these small creatures like hell. It is defined as "a persistent, abnormal, unwarranted aversion to toads". Even though this disease is not common among people, by passing years it might gain importance and people might come to know more about such conditions which are experienced by patients. It is considered as a condition which is experienced by most of the individuals.

The symptoms related to Bufonophobia are many and may vary from one individual to another. They include shortness of breath, heart beat which is irregular, nausea, vomiting, sweating, loneliness, dizziness, drying of mouth, feeling sick, shaking, inability to speak or clearly think, fear of dying, becoming violent as being mad or getting out of control, a feeling of aloofness from the situation and many more.

The cause of Bufonophobia might be any incident or a trauma which might have occurred in the past. This condition may arise even if the person has had experiences by watching television and movies related to these topics. Another reason would be something that the patients might have seen in the experiences of other individuals.

Curing Bufonophobia by treating with drugs is not an easy task and it might prove to be of no use. The only work done by these drugs are to suppress the condition or the symptoms related to it. Therefore the only way of curing Bufonophobia is by attending clinics which do not recommend any drugs. Such clinics are opened in all places for the ease of patients designed for making people feel free and relaxed out of any sort of tension. Such clinics might help a person relieve stress and be like a normal individual.

Treatment of Bufonophobia takes a long time and also needs a lot of patience. It might take months or even years and above all it needs repeated exposure of the patient to the particular fear! Many experts convey that this repeated exposure might lead to worsening of the condition and also is said to be unnecessary. They say that Bufonophobia can be cured by the accurate method and even within 24 hours time. Nowadays it is estimated that about 80% of the patients can be cured by treating them but it might take a long time. It can be accurately said that 5% of the patients can be cured permanently but in the case of 80% figure it could vary.

Bufonophobia is a situation which is commonly seen among almost all individuals. It is experienced in patients who are of older age. Due to their age they tend to loose their nervous response and they might feel frightened of gravity. It is a dreadful situation that many people experience. As this phobia was not bought into light and was not commonly introduced, people were not aware of the condition.
