Aphenphosmphobia: Information, Causes and Treatment
October 14, 2008

Aphenphosmphobia can sternly disrupt normal life, interfering with school, work, or social relationships. So what treatment should be adapted is at the sole discretion of the phobic person.

Aphenphosmphobia refers to an abnormal fear of being touched. Aphenphosmphobia is abnormal fear of being touched. This phobia is referred in a number of ways such as: Being Touched Phobia; Chiraptophobia; Fear of Being Touched; Fear of Touch; Fear of Touched; Haphephobia; Phobia of Being Touched; Phobia of Touch; Phobia of Touched; Touch Fear; Touch Phobia; Touched Fear; Touched Phobia.

A reason that it may not work is frankly some people are afraid to give up their aphenphosmphobia. Their individuality is wrapped up in it. They have had their aphenphosmphobia so long that they do not know who they would be without it. Fortunately, the same methods can be used to eliminate this fear first if it arises.

Lastly, some people just love to talk about their aphenphosmphobia. That is one reason why some people spend years in talk therapy. They love to have somebody who cares about them listen to their aphenphosmphobia problems. Energy Psychology is not about talk. It is all about the end results. Fast, effective, ever lasting results. A lot of talking about problems keeps people in the "fixed" state and is counterproductive. So people who actually want to talk about their aphenphosmphobia because they are not really ready to let them go may not achieve optimal results. People like this may be better successful with talk therapy, even if it means extensive sessions, much higher expense and a lower success rate. But it is what some people want and seem to want.

Effective energy therapists listen really well and with compassion, it is just that their focus is on the "root", not the "branches". You may feel like you have truly been heard for the first time in your life.

So Energy Psychology may not be perfect. And it is not for everyone, perhaps only 80% or so of the population. It is for you because only you can decide on it. But it is worth to try for it. With the guarantees existing, the only thing you have to lose is your aphenphosmphobia.

Of course, success rates for elimination of aphenphosmphobia will be higher with a therapist, but self-help is amazingly effective. Particularly with the improved methods and techniques of leading edge developers in Energy Psychology.

Aphenphosmphobia sometimes does respond really well to energy psychology. Energy psychology is an emerging method that is quickly gaining favor because in studies it is shown to be rapid, safe, effective and long lasting.

Many people with touch fears can be helped with treatment. Therapy for this kind of disorder often involves medication or specific forms of psychotherapy.

Medications, although not cures, are very effective at relieving anxiety symptoms. So if one drug is not successful, there are generally others to try. In addition new medications to treat touch fears are still under development. For this medication that is prescribed to treat touch fears, the doctors usually start the patient on a low dose and gradually increase it to the full dose. Every medication has side effects, but they typically become tolerated or diminish with time.
